 FOR SALE : LARGE ANTIQUE WEATHER VANE / LIGHTING ROD IN IRON Large Antique Weather vane / lighting Rod in Iron
This Large Weather vane has be skillfully crafted by an English blacksmith who knew how to forge iron to a very high standard.
The Letters signifying NORTH , SOUTH , EAST , WEST have been shaped from one piece of iron from the letter , through the twist and into the right angle of the bracket .
This has been hammered with a old rivet style fixing rather than a modern weld.
At some point i guess that the lighting rod was added or repaired as i can see signs of a more recent weld.
measures 145cm tall x 110cm wide.

a pair of reclaimed braziers reclaimed from an old farmhouse building in derbyshire
an unusal item most probably would have held an open flame but at some stage these have had a light fitting attached . the light fitting could be removed and a gas flame torch could be reused.
these were attached to either side of a set of driveway gates.
sizes of these are 5ft long with the lantern extending by 20"
the torch part of the brazier is brass, and the pole is cast iron.
would look fantastic in the right setting
