 WANTED : WANTED: PAIR OF DECORATIVE WROUGHT IRON ENTRANCE GATES
WANTED (SalvoSEARCH): A pair of wrought iron entrance gates approx 12ft high by 12ft wide overall, although the client would consider stretching the width of a narrower pair. The gates sought need to be flamboyant baroque-style, although possibly dating from the 20th century, with good scrollwork, leafwork and devices, and signs of the blacksmith - upset heel bars, upset mortice and tenons, forge welding and the like. (The accompanying photos show the kind of metalwork sought, but not the kind of gates.) The gates cannot have an overthrow, but need scrollwork to the top of the gate, dog bars and a horizontal and/or vertical banding. Gate piers are not needed. Please send photos, sizes and prices, ideally with provenance.
