Standing quietly in the shadows of a church, serving it's Bristol parishioners for over one hundred years, the table was probably overlooked for most of that time. Now, stepping into the light to re-present itself to the world and decorative market, the table proves to be quite an intense, mood-setting individual. Dense, weighty and compact in size. The ornate gothic forms almost blend in against the richly matured, graduating colour and striking grain of the pitch pine. Dress all with a consistent, timeless level of distressing, and the need to stand, study and absorb the piece, becomes irresistible.
Size does offer some versatility in use as a showy little breakfast, side or hall table, however the joy of this piece is it's intensity. Being sold in 'as found' condition. Depending on your needs, the table is generally sound and ready for use. Quite the genuine article, it's a good honest antique piece. Initially appearing sound original and untouched, closer inspection indicates accomplished running repairs and maintenance at some point long ago in its life. All pretty much as you'd expect from a piece of this age.
