FOR SALE : ANTIQUE FRENCH CHAISE LONGUE. 19TH CENTURY

Antique French Chaise Longue. 19th Century.

In every sense of the term, a long chair. A little less obvious than the standard Chaise longues, these models prove particularly popular due initially to their ever so slightly quirky proportions, more so to the fact they're just that bit harder to come across. The perfect decorators piece, there is no overlooking the fact they're also built for comfort. This example, a fine old girl, came down the family line and had been around for as long as anyone could remember. Lived a little, loved a little, immediately obvious some tinkerings and adjustments have been made over the years, but no getting away from the warmth and appeal of the piece. I'll run through the details.

( Loss of upholstery, looks like oroginal underlining. Replacement castors, re-polishing of legs and general maintenance of springs / webbing over the years ).
