 FOR SALE : ANTIQUE SOLID OAK BOARDROOM CHAIRS SET OF 20 Antique Solid Oak Boardroom Chairs set of 20
Confirming their status of boardroom, one chair bears a small brass label " Manifoldia, West Bromwich ". Manifoldia Ltd, a printing company based in West Bromwich, established in 1909.
Slightly bulkier and heavier feeling than the photos suggest. The chairs date anywhere from 1909 to around the first world war. With a slight " Arts & Crafts " hang-over, particularly in the partly chamfered corner of the front legs. These chairs come with a restrained charm of character, further exaggerated by their unusual numbers.
Other than the later replaced textured vinyl upholstery ( which is in very good condition ), the chairs appear to be in original, as found condition, bearing the indications of general wear and tear along with a number of running repairs... A little dirty and dusty, but generally sturdy.
If you plan to use as is, then a simple wash and a beeswax would bring them back up. Alternatively, if you plan to re-upholster and restore, hopefully the keen price, style and solid timbers give you something to work with.
