 FOR SALE : RECLAIMED EKKI PARQUET FLOORING (COMPLETELY CLEANED AND RESTORED) Reclaimed Ekki parquet flooring, salvaged from the music dept floor in the Edge End high school, Nelson, Lancashire, C1932
We originally uplifted 290 sq/Mts and after a painstaking cleaning and restoration process by hand we were left with 240 sq/mts, we then supplied and fitted 34.5 sq/Mts to a nice job (see pics) ONLY 142 SQ/MT'S LEFT AS OF 31/03/2011
This is an exceptionally rare floor with full depth of sandeable wood still remaining, words could not describe just how hard and heavy this wood is, its unbelievable.I would almost say its stilleto proof and it will take a proffessional flooring person to lay sand and seal. Ekki has been renouned for its incredible wearing characteristics and is one of few woods to have a class 1 exterior use listing, please google "Ekki parquet flooring" this should bring up some more details, It is also a very strange wood in that it is so dense and hard that "it does'nt even float"
As you can see from the pics we have this bundled in half metre packs and it is currently in my workshop which is warm and dry, the current MC% is approx 11%. If you are intrested and would like to view this flooring I can pick you up from either Belfast International or George Best Airport by prior arrangement.
