FOR SALE : ANTIQUE DOG-GRATE

A very large cast iron dog grate. It is said to have once come from a large house near Basingstoke; possibly Hackwood House? I would guess that it dates from somewhere between 1790 and 1850 but I'm not an expert on these things. I believe it is very rare to find an English dog-grate of this enormous size and classical design. I would presume it must have come from a major stately home and possibly a special commission.
It is need of restoration with missing fire dog supports, ball finial
and several large cracks.
Total height is 1206mm. Width of fire back is 803mm.
Sadly its too large for my fireplace.
