With strong gothic features, ample in size, the chairs do have presence, making a bold statement. This style of chair, originally designed as a side chair for both home and official use. When not in use, placed against a wall as a decorative side chair. When needed, brought in and round a dining or conference table.
Found and restored a few years back by the previous owner, fresh leather upholstery, timber washed back and revived. In more recent use round the dining table of a small family home the chairs are generally ready for use with some give in one or two joints.

Mogens Kold one of Denmarks largest producers, Hovmand-Olsen one of Denmarks more noted designers. A good combination which produced a number of pieces over the years. On this occasion a clever piece of eye catching designed which floats the body of the sideboard.
A good early example of the low-line sideboard with one or two little characteristics and quirks of age, much in the same way of a good antique piece. Character and fly Danish modern design now presenting a sort of cultural happening which is all rather easy and pleasant to the eye.

 FOR SALE : 60'S DANISH, LONG LOW SIDEBOARD GUNNI OMANN FOR AXEL CHRISTENSEN Danish, long low, teak,sideboard. By Gunni Omann for Axel Christensen, C1960.
Distinctive in many ways, this is a good earlier example of the long, low teak sideboard which is quite typical of Gunni Omann's work. Organic touches in the handles, slim ring turned leg and broad arched moulded door frames, lead only to one designer. One of his better pieces, super imposed by size.
At a whopping 240cm in length, this is a fine example of the Danish, long low sideboard which presents itself in excellent original condition.
