Old hardwood cartwheels approx 1.0m - 1.1m in diametre with a steel band around the outside.
I have quite a few of these, originally from the far east off old handcarts they are all roughly the same design although some do differ. This is a granite trough that is approx. 6ft by 2 ft and 2ft high. It makes a beautiful container for displaying plants or can be used in dramatic and bold water features. As it is solid granite it will last for ever. It has lots of character and the edges have been worn smooth by cattle drinking out of the trough. The walls and floor are very thick (about 4 inches) so therefore this item is very heavy ( approx 450kg).There is a drain hole in the base of the trough - ideal for drainage or could be blocked if suited depending on use. These troughs sell for up to £2000 in garden centres.

The timber frame work is of pegged construction and in an excellent condition with no rot. The lead work around the finial is sound and watertight. The copper wind-vane works perfectly.
