These are the harder wearing type of concrete/council slabs with granite chippings set in the top surface. This gives them a darker and more subtle colour than plain, conspicuous concrete and makes them very tough and long lasting.
These are actually reclaimed from Royal Ascot Racecourse due to the refurbishments there, so you may feel free to imagine any ideas of royal patronage being attached to these slabs, we have no idea exactly where on the estate they come from!
