WANTED : VICTORIAN PINE/GESSO FIREPLACE SURROUND
Good quality Victorian/Edwardian pine and gesso fireplace surround required (together with matching cast iron insert if available.) Some Adam style gesso decoration to frieze preferred. Will accept painted surround, providing it is not so thickly painted that it obscures the decoration. Will pay a good price for the right fireplace.
SIZE:Mantle shelf:48-54" wide.
Opening width:34-38" wide.
Opening height: 36-40" high.
( Sizes are flexible, to an extent, providing that the surround looks in proportion against a chimney breast 67" wide.)

I am about to strip out an adam style pine fireplace and mantel I had installed 25 yrs ago when renovating our house near Watford, Herts.There are marble slips and hearth with it.
