FOR SALE : BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN CAST IRON TILED GAS FIRE
This is Victorian splendour at it's best. Made by T Fletcher of Warrington around 1887 this gas fire measure approximately 40" high, 26" wide and 20" deep. I did do some research on this some years ago which confirmed the era that Mr T Fletcher was making cast iron wares.

The fancy cast ironwork is beautiful, I've shown an image of the legs. It's also tiled as a further image shows, all are undamaged. The internal multi-tubed heat exchanger is copper and it has a rear flue. I'd say it would be very efficient. No doubt made to operate on coal gas it will need to be converted for modern day use. I have a brand new gas fire's innards that will fit and make this operation quite easy.

It's very heavy as you would expect but a truly beautiful thing seemingly made regardless of cost. Unique I'd say and would grace any period home. I can deliver to mainland UK from here in the Isle of Man or you cold collect. It will fit in a hatchback. Near offers invited.
