 FOR SALE : RARE ANTIQUE CARVED MARBLE PANELS/ SCULPTURE. Two magnificent and extremely rare carved marble panels. Would make a fantastic bath surround which wouldn't look out of place in any palace. Other uses might include a fire surround, wall panels, garden feature or pond surround etc.
Comes direct from the chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Liverpool and dates to c1900. Formed part of the pulpit (front and side). Totally fresh to the market. The marble was carved by Frank Norberry who worked with Charles Allen and carved the marble for the Philharmonic Hotel in Hope Street, Liverpool as well as many other high profile commissions in the city.
We have a copy of the sermon preached at it's inauguration into the chapel on Palm Sunday 1900.
These items are unique. All solid marble with ornate carved foliage border, coral marbel panel interior and a carved white marble maiden to the larger panel. These are extremely heavy items and will require at least four men to lift.
Condition Report: Excellent throughout. Odd wear commensurate with age but nothing worth a mention.

Small Panel : Width 1100mm, Depth 78mm, Height 960mm.
