 FOR SALE : VICTORIAN FLORAL TOILET, BASIN AND ROLL-TOP BATH
I am selling a Victorian bathroom suite from the bathroom of our Victorian house. I believe they were salvaged when the house was renovated and re-used by the previous owners in the bathroom as the cistern has a maker's mark from this town on it.
My family has used the suite (toilet, basin and bath) daily for 3 years and it is in use right now, although it will be removed in the next 2 weeks. Everything is in perfect working order although the toilet cistern flush can be temperamental! There are no cracks to the toilet, although it has some small chips, and it tends to discolouration in our hard water area but it is kept very clean. The toilet seat probably needs replacing as it's very worn. I think the toilet is beautiful - it has blue printing all over it and says "Invictas Washdown Closet" with a pattern number inside. I saw a similar one on Antiques Roadshow last year!
The basin and cistern have black wrought-iron brackets. The basin ones are in good condition but the cistern ones (and the edges of the cistern) have slight rust. The bath has claw feet on brackets and one bracket is loose, but this can easily be re-attached. The bath enamel is very matte and probably needs re-doing, but there's no rust and we keep it as clean as we possibly can.
Sensible offers, please - I need these items gone, as we are having a new bathroom. Sadly with a young family we can't afford to give these glorious Victorian fixtures the loving care and restoration they need; it's far cheaper to replace with modern copies. I hope someone else can give them a great home.
