FOR SALE : NEWEL POSTS AND BANISTER RAILS
Beautiful mahogany newel posts and detailed handrail. There are six posts in all, reclaimed from a Victorian/Edwardian house in Southend that was being demolished. The large one is the main one that would be at the bottom of the stair case, approx 6 feet tall, the bottom foot or so would be secured into the floor. There are a further five smaller ones that would have made up a dog-leg design staircase. There are approx four handrails, a main one the length of the oroginal staircase, approx 15 feet and smaller ones. All in lovely condition and will polish up beautifully. One newel post slightly damaged. We do not have spindles as these were non-original.
I originally brought the whole lot for a loft coversion to my Edwardian London town house, but am now relocating to Derbyshire. I paid £200 for the lot but would negotiate over the price. Would look stunning in the right location.
