 FOR SALE : ENCAUSTIC/GEOMETRIC VICTORIAN TILE FLOOR
this is a complex and beautiful example of a salvaged geometric tiled floor circa 1850's maker unknown, although some of the tiles have been stamped with - campbell brick and tile co. stoke on trent
the design was removed from the hallway of a large victorian house in the castelnau area of london nr hammersmith.
the tiles are all in excellent condition with very little damage, just the odd chip and mark here and there. the tiles have been washed with water and the backs sides and edges cleaned and are free of cement and grout and have been sorted and are ready to fix.
the tiles should be cleaned after they have been fixed to achieve the best results. we offer this information as part of the deal, please see below.
dimensions
the dimensions of the floor are as follows:-
approxamately 20/22 sq m available
encaustic 3x3 inch buff on red
encaustic 2x2 inch buff on red
encaustic 2x2 inch buff on black
6 x corner motif tile, 2x2 inch buff on red
approx 24 liear meters of border tiles.
aditional encaustics are included although they do not feature in the main design, they are as follows:-
10 x encaustic 3x3 inch white and buff on brown.
20 x encaustic 4x4 inch buff on brown.
these are pictured with the ruler. they are additional tiles to be used in thresholds as decorative insets.
the largest tile in the floor is 4x4 inch, the smallest measures 1.5x1.5 inch (the small buff square).
this is one of the finest examples of an original and available victorian geometric floor i have come across to date. the floor if purchased will be delivered free of charge to anywhere within the m25. i will be happy to deliver any where else so long as my fuel costs are covered.
the floor will be delivered either boxed or bagged. the tiles have been sorted into their individual shapes, sizes and colours. all the tiles will be cleaned to ensure that they can be easily fixed imediately
