 FOR SALE : MINTON ENCAUSTIC FLOOR
Minton & co Stoke on Trent Encaustic tiled floor
Circa 1850, with makers mark on reverse of each tile.
The design is made entirely of the one 6 x 6 inch tile, tesselating to create this classic pattern.
The tile is a buff coloured slip on a red body.
The tiles have been cleaned on the backs and sides to reove mortar.
9 or 10 of the tiles are worn to the extent that the design has disapeared, you will notice this on the photographs, the worn areas appear as red patches.
I have laid out the design 21 x 10 tiles. You could loose one row and do away with the worn tiles if need be.
Some of the tiles have chips to the corners and sides, commensurate with age
These are very robust tiles and have withstood over 150 years of foot traffic. They still look stunning and have aged well.

Tile = 6 x 6 inch x 1 inch thick
Panel consists of 4 tiles
Tiles total 210
9 or 10 have surface wear and loss of pattern.
Area in sq foot 10'6" x 5' = 52.5 sq feet
