Radiator
FOR SALE : RECLAIMED CAST IRON MASSIVE RADIATOR
A really lovely, quite plain old radiator that came out of a church around Somerset. We bought it and no longer have any use for it.

It is HUGE, at 160cm long x 97cm high. It has 21 columns and is painted a nice bronze colour (though I expect you will need to repaint it). It is immensley heavy, probably weighing in at around the 500 - 650 kg mark. It took eight men to move it so this is not something that should sit on simple floorboards without a bit of work. We had put solid piles under where the feet would have rested and then were going to place metal load spreaders under each foot before we decided it was too big for our house. My guess is it would be best on a concrete type floor?

In my opinion it would suit a big, beautiful old school, church or barn conversion. If your house is massive and has large rooms then it could look great.

The radiator was sold to us in excellent working order and we have no reason to believe this is not still the case. Our plumber examined it and proclaimed it to be in superb order. It has been standing outdoors, but has been wrapped in plastic. There are tiny rust spots forming, but it is very, very minor and a small amount of wirebrushing and paint would sort this.

We are open to offers, but the buyer would have to remove the item. My husband could possibly be one of the men required to move it, but only at the weekend as he works long hours in the city. You will need a piano moving type trolley or a small crane :o)

I do not know the age of this item and couldn't say whether it is antique for certain but I don't think it is really, really old. It's one of those things that if you like it, you like it! Viewing welcome at most times as I am a stay at home Mum.

I have brought a barn that I will be converting later in the year. I may have a home for your humungous lump of cast iron. I could arrange collection. Please tell me how much you would accept for it. Many thanks.
