 WANTED : 1920S CAST IRON FIREPLACE - COUNCIL HOUSE LOUNGE
The picture is of the fireplace in the master bedroom a 1920s council house in south west London, Dover House estate. The dimensions are 48" tall by 40" wide (widest point of the mantle). the item required needs to fit the living room chimney breast which is 4" wider than the master bedroom one. I imagine the height would be the same.
I don't mind the condition as I have the tools for restoration.
In the 1960s the council ripped out most of the fireplaces are replaced them with gas fires; lucky for us the ones in the bedrooms were not removed

i have two fireplaces of a similar style to your request.and another type with tile inserts. also , a complete slate surround that is for the fire with the tiles.i have cleaned the tiles and they are a green tile. i will do another picture if you require.if you would like any more info , please email back.
