 FOR SALE : FINE ANTIQUE ARCHED MARBLE FIREPLACE SURROUND
Arched antique marble fire surround in dark grey marble with red and white veining.
It has just been removed from our own house in Lothian following the installation of a wood-burning stove with the wrong dimensions for this surround. The seller of the house told us that the surround originated from an older property in Edinburgh/Glasgow.
Approximate dimensions: 45" (height) x 57" (width), 37" (opening width) x 37" (opening height), 68" (mantel length) x 13" (mantel depth).
The mantel had two historical repairs (ie cracks fixed with marble glue coloured to match), but has successfully been removed intact without re-opening the breaks.
Please note that the hearth-slabs, modern cast-iron insert and fire basket are NOT included in the sale.
