calling all genuine art deco and period restoration fans!
this stunning original skirt bath in rose du barry, complete with matching pedalstool sink & toilet, this is a masterpiece of art deco styling. plug and waste in right hand end, (as per the photo) the top quality bath is made of solid cast iron, which makes it very strong, heavy and the water stays hot !
the sink and toilet are porcelain marked "standard" all are undamaged and free of any chips or cracks. both come with original fittings & fixings.
bath measurements are a generous 73" length x 30 depth" and 19 " height.
sink measures : basin width 24" x 20" depth, total height with pedalstool 31 1/2"
toilet cistern measures : width 20" height 131/2"
this very rare bathroom suite is of a classic timeless design. pure luxury, fantasy and opulence come to mind as well elegance & fun.

historic note on colour: until the 1920's, sanitary ware makers, including the chicago crane company, and pittsburgh standard sanitary manufacturing company, had not advertised in consumer mags due to the 'unmentionable' nature of their products. the advent of art deco films with undressed starlets bathing indoors in the late 1920s, heralded the emergence of full page ads depicting luxury fantasy bathrooms. standard (which became ideal standard) and crane began offering porcelain in designer shades, as well as white. in 1929, colours offered were st. porchaire brown, clair de lune blue, ming green, orchid of vincennes, ivoire de medici, royal copenhagen blue, meissen white, ionian black, rose du barry and tang red.
please note: the bath is extremely heavy and this should be taken into consideration when purchasing the suite. the buyer must arrange for collection and transportation.
