SALVO 2O17 will be the third year running at the beautiful venue of Sir William and Lady McAlpine's private estate, less than one hour west of London. Catering is provided by the Fawley Hill Estate which usually includes meals and a bar from the local Golden Ball, vintage teas, ice-cream and more. The private railway museum and the two mile Fawley steam train ride is run by volunteers and is usually open on Saturday and Sunday. It is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday in June. The 2017 dates are on the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June. The Trade day will be held on Friday 23rd June to which dealers, decorators, construction professionals, developers, builders, landscapers and journalists will be welcome. This year there is a Friday evening charity preview event. Plus Saturday and Sunday weekend festival tickets which include entry on both days and one meal from sustainable chef, Douglas McMaster. Owner of Silo, Brighton, the UK's first zero-waste restaurant. OFM award for best ethical restaurant in 2016. Pre book only via Eventbrite,at salvofair(dot)com from April 2017.
There are normally around 90 exhibitors from the UK and Europe, including Salvo Code, LAPADA and Antique Young Gun members. Regulars include Insitu, Mongers, Architectural Salvage Source, Smith's Architectural, Molly and Maud's Place and De Zooneroos, Holland.
The Salvo Fair zones include architectural salvage and reclaimed building materials including bricks, tiles, flooring, antique radiators, doors and door furniture, garden and decorative antiques, furniture, mirrors, lighting, recraft, retro, steampunk, industrial, vintage and mid-century modern, vintage fabric, reclaimed upcycling, craftspeople and eco green building.
Each year there is a different theme. The theme for the 2017 fair is off-grid living - antiques, reclamation and salvage, green living and the carbon benefits of reuse.
FAQs: It is an outdoor shopping fair for architectural salvage and antiques and families are welcome but children should be supervised at all times.
Most exhibitors are happy to arrange delivery of heavy items.
The catering and many exhibitors use marquees to cover their stock but please bring suitable footwear for walking on a field.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Field parking provided.
