FOR SALE : RECLAIMED ASH FLOORBOARDS 20SQM 23CM WIDE Unique Ash floorboards taken from an Oxford College.
I have 20 square metres and each board is 9 1/4 ins (23.5cm) wide and 1 inch (25mm) thick. Lengths vary, but a large number of them measure 85 1/2 inches (2.17m). There are 39 lengths.
The fact that the boards are wider than a standard board indicates a superior quality (comes from bigger, older trees) and gives a superb look when laid (we actually laid them out on the carpet as they would be and it looked stunning).
Ash is a lovely wood with a rich grain and colour. It is a very hard and is thus very durable.
This is a one off and you will never find such a fabulous floor.
They are ready to lay and would need very little work on them. This floor is in excellent condition and all boards are straight and marry together.
We were lucky enough to get hold of this via first refusal from a contact at Oxford. We were going to lay it in our dining room but no longer have a use for it as we are moving house. It even has some of the original graffiti from its days in the College (proves its originality!) and adds character, which you could either leave or not. Please feel free to give me a ring or e-mail me if you have any questions. Contact : Loftus Arkwright, Shropshire, UK. Tel: 01568770117. Price : 1,450
