FOR SALE : ANTIQUE VERY RARE EAGLE CAST IRON FIRE TILED FIRE INSERT
We have only ever owned one of these Eagle Grates before

This is totally original with its original tiles (these could be changed)

This was made by the Eagle foundry

It is marked - Gold Medal Eagle Grate by Royal Letters Patent

We have only had to clean this in our workshops

The pictures below show how this grate was to be used. In the Summer and other times when the fire was not being used the grate was closed, in this mode it was still attractive to look at. When in use the door were folded back and it looked like a normal tiled insert.

All of the original tiles and small brass knobs are still fitted
To put this into use a standard fireback from your local builders merchant would be used

The grate overall measures 36" tall and it is 30¼" wide x 13" deep (approx)

I am trying to trace about a metre of the green tiles that are shown on the side of your fireplace and was wondering if you had any or knew where i can get them from, they are for underneath a range.
