 FOR SALE : ORIGINAL COALBROOKDALE SERPENT & GRAPE GARDEN SEAT The Serpent & Grape is one of the earliest Coalbrookdale patterns. This example has iron slatted back and seat, the end supports entwined with serpents and dogs' heads.
Coalbrookdale registered the design in 1844
We purchased this from the Scotish Highlands and from the family history this bench is thought to be Circa 1860
It has been stripped back to the bare metal and then primered, undercoated then 3 top coats of satin black.
It measures 6ft long

 FOR SALE : MATCHING PAIR ORIGINAL COALBROOKDALE GARDEN SEATS This is a wonderful example of a fine and rare pair of Coalbrookdale benches
The name for this design is the Italian pattern bench, it was available in different lengths and with wooden or metal slats
these are the more desirable benches with the cast iron seats and backs
They are marked with two lozenge marks and two registration numbers
The registered number is 59652
We purchased one from the Scotish Highlands and from the family history this bench is thought to be Circa 1860
The second identical bench was purchased from a garden clearance in Shropshire, near the home of Coalbrookdale - again this is circa 1860/1880
Both are identical
It is very rare to find a matching pair
They have been stripped back to bare metal and repainted with undercoat and a couple of top coats of satin black
They have had a couple of genuine old repairs done to them - but they were done well and we have not had to repair them ourselves

The clock is complete - we purchased it from a collector and it was running sweetly on a stand

Turret clock - which was probably from a Church
This type of Turret clock is called a 'chair' because of its shape
