This is one of several items that we purchased from an estate in Holmbury St Mary in Surrey

This item was made bespoke for the estate owners

This is totally hand carved from solid stone

This Kasuge Lantern can we used as a focal point of a garden design

This is suitable for use outdoors or indoors

The Kasuge Lantern measures 75" tall and is a maximum of 22" wide

This is both a functional and decorative item

The Kasuge Lantern is also unique

Following on from the 1893 book 'Gardening in Japan' items such as the Kasuge Lantern have been an integral part of garden designs
Around 1910 both Liberty's and Carters of London were offering Lanterns direct from Japan
