The new whisky barrel flooring from McKay Flooring has sparked lots of interest with enquiries from whisky-lovers and interior designers from as far afi eld as the United States, Russia, Japan and Denmark. It's a whisky lover's dream - - wooden flooring in your home made from the casks of the national drink. McKay Flooring in Glasgow has come up with a method of making floorboards from old oak whisky barrels. Many people wonder if the fl ooring retains the aroma of fine malt whisky. It's a good question and probably depends on how vivid your imagination is. Certainly, when you press a board to your nose, you get the very pleasant smell of oak and vanilla.
