A set of 3 identical original horseshoe cast iron fireplace inserts. They have all been handstripped and then polished back to their original finish with lead polish to achieve a lovely gun metal effect.
They were removed from a Georgian house near Danbury and we wondered whether the unusal and very decorative Lions with crowns are something to do with the Coronation, unfortunately there are no date marks to confirm this.

 FOR SALE : UNIQUE 24IN WIDE VICTORIAN TILED FIREPLACE INSERT
This is a beautifully cast and extremely decorative original Victorian cast iron fireplace insert. The figurehead is a very unusal feature and protrudes from the hood. It is made more unusual by its small size, even the tiles are smaller in size. It was taken out of Henfield Lodge nr Brighton and dates from 1903. It has been polished back to the original finish achieving a lovely gun metal effect. It is in immaculate order and even comes with its original little soot sweep brush.

Late victorian door with frame. Has original glass both in the door and sidelight. The glass is etched but has a art nouveau paper transfer over it, this can be removed with ease. The etching is a foral tesalated design.
There is also amber glass at the tops of both the door and side lights and an cut glass star motif in the corners.
The glass at the top of the frame does need replacing.

This fireplace is totally unique.
This fantastic fireplace has been rennovated back to its original finish to achieve a lovely gun metal grey effect. It is truly ornate and a beautiful example from this period. The shelf in the middle is really attractive in design. It is in good order, however, there is slight groove to the bottom corner of the left foot (see photo) but does not affect fireplace once in position. The fireplace is against a fireback (included) and a good quality set of front bars and matching ashpan, which is a close reproduction of what would originally have been with it.
