FOR SALE : GEORGIAN REGENCY LIMESTONE PORTICO Moved from a residence in Belsize Park, London, in 1999 to where it had been relocated from an earlier site, almost certainly Wigmore Street, London, in the early 1900s; this Portland limestone portico was originally slate pegged, but then re-erected in lime mortar; it had been painted but has now been cleaned back to the original stone; the padstones under the columns have been replaced; the six panel raised and fielded front door is solid oak. Approx dimensions: maximum height 10ft, height to eaves of roof 8ft 2ins, maximum width 6ft 8ins, depth to front of columns 4ft 5ins, depth excluding columns 3ft 8ins, interior width 5ft 2ins, interior depth 3ft, width of door 3ft 2ins, height of door 6ft 8ins. If this cannot be reerected in the UK as a porch on a Georgian building (owing to the somewhat arcane planning laws - erecting it on an unlisted 1930's house is easy, on a Georgian house more or less impossible) then why not as a garden summerhouse or even export it to the USA as perhaps the classiest outdoor privy in the universe!
