Dating to 1850's for a bedroom fireplace.
Dimensions to fit opening - 36 ins (91.5cms) high by 21.5 ins (54.5cms) wide.
I have the original Hob Grate (see image)in situ but looks very lost in large fireplace opening and not sure what to do with it.

Hi, I may be wrong but the hob grate in that photo looks like a complete original which would have had a stone or brick back and a simple wood or stone surround . . . so the rest of the insert is not missing . . . seems a shame to remove it . . . you could try asking a historic buildings expert first.
