FOR SALE : STAINLESS STEEL FREESTANDING STOVE - C1948
It is dated to c1948 I believe, and comes from the Netherlands (one careful owner). It could be older. There is part of an old makers sticker on the back, with a stock id and the brand/slogan of which the following words remain: Vabra Vaste Brandst....
It is coal fired, refilled through a hopper under the lid in the top. It burns 24 hours a day with refills morning and night from a scuttle. It has holes for poking and clearing ash behind the lid at the front, and a sliding control of air intake.
Not photo'd are an attractive front 'footplate' in the same stainless steel which sits in front of the stove, mainly decorative, but would catch sparks from poking, and an extensible chimney-connection-box which fits onto the exit flume at the rear. Also not photo'd is a spar cast iron grate which fits inside the stove unit.
Milk-splattered presentation, is only cosmetic and results from a few months storage in a utility room. There are no scratches or dents.
You can scale it with reference to the standard sized washing machine behind in the photo. Rest assured it will comfortably heat the largest of rooms, especially in a modern house!
It is located in Walton on Thames and would require collection (two to lift it!).
