Theft Alerts News
Subject: Theft of Pennant stone Paving Slabs - Bristol
This is to notify you of regular thefts since late September 2000. We have recently been advised that slabs are possibly being shipped to the North- West of England.

Very little of the stolen property has ever been recovered.

The last theft took place just prior to 11/1/2004 from Bedminster, Bristol(Avon & Somerset Police Broadbury Rd Bristol Crime Reference B4900/08012004/05). Previous thefts in recent months were also from the Bedminster district and their crime ref no's (also Broadbury Rd Police) are as follows - B4900 12/12/2003/02, B7940/07102003/01, B8874/14/10/2003/02, B9763/29/07/2003/06, B4493/28/08/2003/02. Only small quantities of slabs are taken on each occasion, approx 2/3 square metres at a time. The slabs are of distinct grey natural pennant stone (with hints of purple/pink) appearance. Some of the slab fronts have been dressed (tooled) to form ribbing (to improve grip under foot).

If any of your members are offered suspect material meeting this description, please contact Broadbury Road Police (Tel 0117 945 5466) and me (Tel 0117 922 3209).
Thanks for your assistance.
