 FOR SALE : BEAUTIFUL PERIOD FIRECLAY BATH.
Measuring 68 " x 29" x 23" (L x W x H), the inside of this antique bath is enamelled, though as you would expect of a piece of this age there are some slight chips apparent. The bath is 2" thick and has no tapholes. The outside of the bath is unfinished as it would originally have been intended to be cloaked within a timber panelled enclosure but it has an earthy feel that I love.
As one can see from the photographs the bath is stamped with the manufacturers name and serial number. Jos. Cliff and Sons were clay grinders and brickmakers in the mid 1800s and became part of the Leeds Fireclay Group.
Sporting the original waste and overflow, this bath has been removed from the house which it has graced for the past 100 years or so.
I have the bath in professional storage and so is available immediately (Huddersfield area). Be aware this is a heavy, heavy bath.
I would consider part exchange for a period slipper bath or similar.
